Café Les Deux Gares is a spot I particularly like for capturing the spirit of a Parisian bistro, but with cuisine that is much more creative than it appears. The menu changes with the seasons, the plates are full of flavor, and the combinations can really surprise you. I also love the retro decor, the bar, and its improbable location right above the tracks. And for lunch, the menu is honestly a great deal.

I would start with the weekday lunch: the €22 and €26 menus really make this address worthwhile. And if you come alone, sit at the bar — it’s exactly the kind of bistro where I like to eat solo.
